Geocore Site Investigations was tasked by G.H. Saul Consulting Engineers to drill a 40-metre water borehole near Askham Bog with the primary aim of accessing and monitoring the Sherwood Sandstone aquifer. This project required careful consideration of the local geological conditions to ensure the borehole would meet the client’s needs and support future hydrogeological assessments. The site’s subsurface was characterized by approximately 30 metres of drift deposits sitting above the Sherwood Sandstone formation, which is known for its soft, grey, fine-grained yet competent rock properties.
Geocore Site Investigations was engaged by G.H. Saul Consulting Engineers to undertake the drilling and installation of a 60-metre-deep borehole intended for agricultural use, specifically for livestock and general farming. The project required a high degree of geological understanding due to the location being above the Old Red Sandstone formation, with the rock strata dipping eastward at angles ranging from 2 to 4 degrees from outcrop to site.
Geocore was engaged by Curtins to carry out a site investigation project at a hospital in Leeds. The scope of work involved collaboration across multiple internal teams and included rotary drilling, windowless sampling, hand pitting, and the deployment of one of our compact tracked rigs. Approximately one year later, the team returned to the site to conduct additional investigative works.
