Geocore was contracted by Yorkshire Heat Pumps to undertake a project at a private residence in the beautiful village of Heptonsall in Halifax. The view alone made this project very special.

The drilling team drilled four boreholes using air mist to 81.25 metres each. Forty millimetre pipes were installed and the client linked these to a ground source heat pump. Air mist was used for drilling due to the anticipated ground conditions.

One of our Comacchio 602 rigs was used for the drilling. Whilst not a  specific geothermal rig, the Comacchio 602 is very effective in areas where access is restricted.

The location of the site proved tricky, but our experienced team worked well with the client to develop solutions and source alternative plant equipment to assist with the drilling work.

The team mobilised, completed the project and de-mobilised from the site within a week, resulting in a happy client and a happy homeowner.
