Geocore was commissioned to carry out a ground source heating installation at a domestic property in a restricted-access area of London.

The project involved drilling ten 200-meter boreholes and installing 50mm closed-loop HDPE pipework, all within the challenging constraints of a dense urban environment. Despite limited access and the complexities of working in a residential setting, the project was completed successfully in seven weeks.

The Geocore team used a Comacchio GT909 drilling rig alongside a mud recycling machine to efficiently complete the boreholes. Each loop was pressure tested to a minimum of 45 bar and flow tested to ensure optimal performance. The pipes were capped one meter above ground level with fusion-welded end caps, ready for the next stage of the ground source heating installation. The project highlights Geocore’s expertise in delivering technically complex solutions in challenging locations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
